The Holidays Are Finally In!

Aha!
*flips happy-mood switch on*

I think I've been lagging making posts for my dearest little cutie blog.

-flicks switch off-
AHHHHH. Stupid virus sent by some donkey friend. UGH. I hate you dammit!
It was trying to infiltrate my lovely 2GB MM2! RAWR.
Curse you! Now I struggling to find my pictures!
-flicks switch on-

Oh well~ Let's keep the mood going =]

Life has its usuals' ups and downs and I was entirely sick for one month and going... although I'm recovering now.

Even when I was sickly and feverish last 2 weeks, I still accompanied a colleague to treat her kids at Sembawang. It was like a class of boys and yeah, they kinda find me intimidating (because I was really not in the mood with the pain and the yummy pizza which don't go well with the pain and the wind is giving me chills and the fever and the loud noises and the cold stares). While they finished 6 boxes of pizza, I finished just a slice.

part of 4/1

4/1

the teachers. hey. i was trying real hard to smile... like decently .
Zomg my shawl looks like a skirt/blankie! ._.

-------*

Last week was a torturous week cos i got more sick-er. Heh. My lips were super chapped and super raw and red and swollen and it was... gore. Top it up with fever. Hardcore. aha. The tongue was riddled with ulcers and you really don't want to see it. Some teachers who saw me in the staff room was trying not to cringe at the sight. Now... if only I can scare my students... for that moment. Just a lil... oh. i got paid for one day coming to do my markings and not teach (and still dare to ask the admin to give me the previous day another pay. hee) =x

Met godbro and we finished House of the Dead 4. Woot. (with 20 buckeroos)
Not bad for a 2nd time eh? =P

-------*

This week is far better. I could teach although I'm slightly slurring in my speech due to the ulcers. Less teaching - more going through with the test papers and a lil more with the word games. Gave them their Lit March hols homework. Hey, that's what teachers have to do, ok? Don't give me that look. Stop. No. *shows the no finger*

And I had 4/1 to relief today because their teacher isn't here. (Qoute student(s): "Demam cinta." hahahaha) They were kinda giving the ~_~ when i stepped in to do my relief but it got better when I told them something unexpected. Haha. Now they're asking me to vote for them during the school's own battle of the bands during sports and arts carnival. Sure will =] Now.. where can I hear MxPx GSF... *thinks*

Sometimes I wonder whether having an hyperactive class is way better than a zombie class.

-------*

Now. Tomorrow Saosin's gonna open for Incubus. Who still wants in?
*googles for godbro*

-------*

Hee. Can I have a good weekend? =]

SINGfest 2007

Okay... I still can't believe the news that has just leaked out. *takes deep breath*
Alright everyone, here's the Good Awesome News.

SINGfest 2007 @ Fort Canning Park, Singapore.
(8th August 2007 & 9th August 2007) It will be held for 2 days.

And the rumoured lineup would be:
  • Sugar Ray
  • Black Eyed Peas
  • Pet Shop Boys
  • The Academy Is...
  • Cobra Starship
  • Gym Class Heroes
  • MxPx
  • Good Charlotte
  • Avenged Sevenfold

So, Sugar Ray, Black Eyed Peas, The Pet Shop Boys, The Academy Is..., Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes, MxPx, Good Charlotte, Avenged Sevenfold is coming to Singapore.

    Hard to believe ya?
So, I went around finding for some proof/sources... here we go~

  • 8th August 2007
    [Band(sources;comments)]

  • Gym Class Heroes (Fueled By Ramen tour dates; partly confirming Good Charlotte & Black Eyed Peas - funny they put Singapore and Thailand together *frowns*)
  • Sugar Ray (official website; partly confirming Black Eyed Peas & Pet Shop Boys)
  • Pet Shop Boys (official website)

  • 9th August 2007
    [Band(sources;comments)]

  • Avenged Sevenfold (myspace)
  • The Academy Is... (myspace)
  • Cobra Starship (myspace)
  • MxPx (official website)

  • I couldn't find any decent confirmation for Good Charlotte (I'm not sure about it, 'cos in their website they look uber busy in a tour with Justin Timberlake) and BEP (tour dates shown in their website is by far for July currently) though. But, hey, sometimes, the words don't lie. So, I hope it's all true... :3

    Well...
Maybe not for the ticket sales. *Read: refer to Sugar Ray website, S$150.*

    Cheaper a bit lah. =x

    ---

While chanting 'omgicantbelievethis' and searching for some proof, look at what I've stumbled upon at Audioreload.

    *refer to red box*

Haha. Yes. Funeral For A Friend is coming to Singapore. (sistic info here)
    VENUE :
Glass Pavilion, Far East Square (28 China Street)
TICKET PRICE (Exclude Booking Fee of S$2):
    S$75 Early Bird (16 Jun - 05 Aug 07)
    S$85 Early Bird (06 Aug - 7 Sept 07)
    S$95 (8 Sept 07)

Heaven & Hell is coming to Singapore as well.

Actually, this post was meant to be for TAI, CS, and FFAF (plus H&H) but I apparently stumbled upon more news instead.

What I'm trying to point out is Saosin and Paramore might be coming to Singapore probably at the end of the year too. I wonder how true can that be, but I'd be stoked if it is really true.

Psst... While I was trying to find the news out, take a look at this~

The vid's title is Saosin in Singapore 22nd May 2007

They apparently were here on 22nd May 2007 and some fans took Chris, Beau and Justin out to Upper Serangoon for a whooping S$50 durian treat. Plus, (from what I read in the forums), they also got some tattoos done. Dang. I'm so envious now.

There's quite alot of pictures of Saosin in Singapore.
Click click here! (it's a forum, just browse and you can find the pics easily)

    So happening right? Lol.

Amidst all these awesome bands, August has the National Day aura, even if I catch all of them, I don't want to miss National Day Parade too. >.< *stress*

    Saosin's Video - You're Not Alone

    Okay.

Now I better post about the Anberlin & Copeland show decently, in terms of first-hand experience. Though, I'm trying real hard to get my hands on some stuff I totally missed during the Secret Show, better yet, getting a chance to say,

    "Hey Joey, you look cute".
    ^^v *lol*

    -------*

Anyway, Saosin's 'You're Not Alone' Music Video is out! (here - Myspace.com)
Or, just watch it here (someone uploaded it on YouTube) =D

I kind of understand some parts of the video, though I think it's best to know it from the band itself.

    -------*

Okies. That's about all for this post.
I'm kinda blurred right now, since it's like 3:12AM.
    =x

EDIT: I'm (going to be) uploading 2 new songs on my playlist.

The Spill Canvas (Webbie) (MySpace) (Wiki)
Heard their album is coming out soon, or is it already out? The EPs out.

    Anchor & Braille (Webbie) (MySpace)
If only I have a vinyl player, ugh.
I think I might buy it for some family value purposes too. ^^
[My grandparent's old records, of course.]

    Watch out for it! =]

    Get well soon Cove!

    From MySpace:
Lead Singer Cove Reber Rushed To Hospital

On Saturday night (28th April) Cove Reber, lead singer of US rock band Saosin, was raced to hospital straight after the bands barnstorming performance at the Give It A Name show in Earls Court. Having felt a little unwell before the show, it soon became apparent that Cove needed urgent medical treatment when he began to vomit profusely within minutes of leaving the stage.

He was immediately placed on an IV drip at the venues medical centre and when his condition deteriorated he was taken straight to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where he was treated for gastro-intestinal problems. He required four IV bags and was kept in overnight, being released yesterday afternoon.

Unfortunately Cove was still too unwell to perform at last nights Give It A Name show in Birmingham. Saosin would like to apologise to their fans who were expecting to see them there, but hope they understand that it was impossible for them to perform under the circumstances.

However the bands own headline gig tonight in Glasgow will go ahead, as will the rest of this weeks shows. They are:

    [...]

They release their new single 'Voices' on May 14th on EMI Records.

Presenting.... the band on the AP cover (May '07)

    Saosin *hearts*

No obssession. Just that I should give them a credit somehow =]

When I first knew the existence of Saosin, Cove Reber has already taken the throne that was once held by Anthony Green. I enjoyed their songs more than I could have imagined. But when I tried finding information about the band as a whole, what they do, where they come from, all I get is more of the remarks where Reber shouldn't be in and Green should have stayed or something that goes along the line of Reber spoilt the whole thing. Whatever negative remarks the fans might have over the handover.

I kept quiet towards all this hoo-haa but my thoughts kept replying,
    "Give this man a break."

For a slight second or two, I tried to be in Reber's shoe, and I'm more than sure that I will find it amazingly depressing if I need to be better to be the upperhand of the comparison. Meeting up with expectations even though no matter how raw you are to the scene? With quite a number fans that does such remarks, truthfully, are they fans of Saosin or fans of Anthony Green?

Qouted by Cove Reber in the article:
"You have no clue how many times I wanted to quit this band"

Yes, Saosin's amazing when Anthony Green was in, but then again, he chose to go out. Where's the respect for the ones left in the background? The guitarists, bassist and drummer? The band's already moved on.

    So did Anthony Green...
With Circa Survive and The Sound of Animals Fighting.

...And fans should too. [who's more inclined to the old stuffs that the band has]

After reading the article, I more or less have placed them up a notch.
In respect to what each member has gone through. *keeps the magazine proper*

If Saosin's ever reading this, which I highly doubt, but I'm going to say anyway...
Remember this please... I may just be one person but,

    I respect your music.
...and do come to Singapore one day ~

    =]

    -------*

This is music. I judge music by hearing and not by seeing their faces or what had they have to go through. How I like something by hearing sounds that they enjoy making. I tend to break things I like into pieces, understand each one of them, and piece them back just the way I like them to be. Either it better or worse, it is naturally my own opinion. And seriously, I never really have gotten used to MTV. Weirdly.

You can't say I'm a born lover on a genre. I was born into a family that mainly listens to the radio. And with the genes I have from my previous generations. But I also have 3 older brothers that listens to what I am currently comfortable listening to. Whatever my brothers once enjoy was naturally part of my growing up phase. Something I pick up and assembled into my life. If we like what we hear, we keep it that way.

"We fear what we don't know"

Taken from Anberlin's Cities Homepage. (Audio interview with the band, click on New Orleans)

    Question 23, asked by PointBlank
Gentlemen, do you have any feelings towards fans of your music that are not only religiously-affiliated, but who may be anti-religious, agnostics, or atheists?

    -

    Stephen:
...but who may be anti-religious, agnostics, or atheists? I guess my response would be, I have no problems.

For me, music was created not for any type for one genre, one person. I don't care what ur sexual orientation is, your race, your colour, your creed, where you were brought up, the color of your skin. It just doesn't matter. Like music, if genre was music, it should be for the entire world and I am not about to limit myself and say "Well, my music was only created for this group or this group or only this group is cool enough to listen to this". That makes no sense, it makes no logical sense. So.. honestly, I love everyone and I would love everyone or anyone to listen to Anberlin.

The only thing that kind of struck me as odd is the fact is the (question states) "that are not only religiously unaffiliated but who may be anti-religious..."
That's the one thing that's just the fact that no one should be anti-religion. I think everyone should be open-minded enough to accept everybody no matter, again, what their color, creed or sexual orientation or religion is. I think that they should be open minded enough to accept everyone and anybody in their life and also get to know it. I think we fear what we dont know. And so, I encourage everyone to seek and go find answers. [And go] search out beauty and truth, because to me that's the 2 things are worth it, the 2 things that keep me here in Anberlin, that keeps me alive and keeps me doing what I'm doing. So, go out there ... [and that's about it]

Hey, Anberlin is here with open arms for anyone, not for just any one group or religion or affiliation. So, thanks alot for your questions, guys. We really appreciate it.

    -------*

I couldn't explained myself any better.

If there is any side notes, it would be: I'll try to get my paws on Anberlin's Special Ed Cities CD and on Saosin's AP cover magazine. I'll get my butt moving to find Saosin's article in Singapore.

Oh, and make my DebitCard. =]
    For online shopping. (yesyesyesyesyesyesyes)

Why Jakarta, Saosin? Why?! Singapore's better! *whines*

Also, why Malaysia, Good Charlotte? Why?! (It's ok though. Hehe. I will be broke if all comes here. Man man lai~ =D )

    Another sleepless Night. =/

Ever since I have been having alot of troubles surfacing on me. These troubles are making my insomnia from bad to worse. Well, anyway, heck about that...

So, while I was having troubles and my lappie accompanying me through the night, I logged in to the ever-so-troublesome Blogger and noticed something... Lookie~

OMG... Thank YOU for noticing Mr. Whoever-Owns-Blogger Blogster. (Okay, I sound so ignorant about blogger and who own this site and all, but hey! I'm noticing it now~! =X) I have Major problems Making my Lappie understand the dodo cookie that I'm logged IN all the time! Grr... Meaning Blogger don't even remember I never logged out T_T. Prolly it's good for me 'cos blogger logs me out of my own dashboard when I close the window, but hell, it's freaking irritating you know? Ughhh. Oh well, I volunteered out to help with that problem anyway. Hope my itsy-bitsy-effort-late-at-night will eventually help with my Blogger problems...

    Well anyway, I'm trying to get things abit more straight and lay'ed' out with my parents. It's been really a rough week for me;

    1st - Coming back from M'sia =(
2nd - Having the From-Young-I've-Tried-My-Best-To-Avoid-It talks with my parents...
3rd - err, personal issues. I really have to add the 's' there. Or else the list won't end... If you're wondering what, it goes from the range of financial, friendships, family and health issues. So, don't ask. Told you as much as I can offer. Hah.

It's true what Daddy said. But sometimes, it sounds awfully wrong. Anyway, I'm thinking alot and I really need a breather. So, thankfully, my parents are letting me off after the weekend, thus, I'm free to go out and at least freshen up and think abit more better (outside of the house, of course...)

2007 is really a decision-making year for me. Damn.

Oh well, I did quite a few worthless things during the weekend such as...
    1. Created an account at Last.fm (I'm enjoying it! Haha.)
    2. Updated my friendster (after a few freaking months not even touching it... Heh.)
    3. Helped Bro Kel with his blogskin. Now damn Nice. It's soooo me. Haha.
    4. Downloaded more songs... Loving Saosin as usual and beginning to appreciate Mae.
    5. Edited lyrics in LyricWiki; Read Wikipedia. *I need to learn something or else I'd be stoned.*
    6. Wondered what happened to MySpace account... *scratch head*
    7. Dreaming (I did this like almost every second) that I own a money-making machine so I can... buy Saosin's T-shirt and modify it; modify my room; take up my self-appreciating lessons; buy my cheapskate guitar; pay all the bills so there is no worry to pay for it; save the rest into my savings account so I can prepare to do further studies; use notes to wipe my sweat (like in Dumb & Dumber)... etc, etc.

I saw this interesting article that made me guilty conscious (It's about addictive drugs that should be banned) and also, I have this ironic theory. About the similarities of homosapiens and the animal kingdom. Haha. I better go find that article and make time for the stupid theory.

Shizzor... I keep forgetting to make the holiday entry. Crap. Ugh. I better do it ASAP; before I forget the fine details.

Oh. I also forgot to add this in the list...
    8. Watched Heroes =]

... Damn. 16 beats godly. Ugh.
