Facebook: Activate your account or it will be closed within a week

Okay... So I was rotting my time away at Facebook and I saw something peculiar when I checked my Notification tab:

I knew that, with experience, I shouldn't be even clicking towards that application and think about anything else. But another so-called friend also suffered the same thing -

I doubt that Facebook is that pathetic to make you install an Application just to activate your account. Facebook doesn't need to re-activate your account, since you're rotting in Facebook, and you saw this notice. Plus the application itself isn't from Facebook.

I guess the maker of this application is just so bored and is in dire need to do some social experiment.

Just in case, avoid it since it will gain access to your account information. If you already have it as an application, block it or delete it. After that, change your password, just to be on the safest side.
